In addition to these, we have our House Rules which you can read here.
Whilst we want you to enjoy your stay at Stone Cottage, we have found that by being clear about our house rules and expected behaviour, it allows for both us as the Property Owners and you, the Holiday makers, to have peace of mind.
House Rules
1. Please leave the property in the same state it is found at check in.
1a. If you damage or break something, please tell us immediately. This is essential to ensure that we have adequate time to remove, fix or replace the item before future guests arrive. Things like glasses and plates won't be charged for, as we understand that these things happen however, we do need to know about breakages or damages as soon as possible. If charges are required, we will provide jdetails of the costs via quotes or receipts. Costs will be recovered either through direct invoicining, deductions from your good housekeeping deposit or through AirBnb / other OTA assistance.
2. Please remove your shoes and use the shoe rack in the kitchen to maintain the cleanliness of the cottage and preserve our carpets.
3. Although there are a limited number of properties on the lane, sound does carry so we do ask that in the late evening (11pm) music is kept low, if outside. If inside, we ask that windows remain closed.
4. No smoking or vaping is permitted in the property. The front door must be shut if guests are smoking in the stone porchway, to prevent smoke from travelling into the property.
5. Do not drive over the lawn, grounds or in the field. The driveway has been coated in white stone to clearly distinguish it from the grass areas.
5a. Parking for 3 cars is provided by the side of the house on the driveway or on the stoned area in front of the dining room window.
6. Tom Tom, our antique rocking horse is just for show, please do not touch him.
7. Whilst we hope you enjoy playing the piano, please do not place drinks on it directly, please use one of the coasters provided, at all times.
8. Please do not move the fireguard in the lounge. It is there to ensure that guests cannot fall into the sunken tiled fireplace area.
8a. Lit candles and fires are not permitted in the property, any provided in the cottage are for decorative purposes only.
9. Please use the chopping boards provided in the kitchen, do not use the counters.
10. Please be aware of increasing energy prices and switch off lights and devices when they are not needed. Please do not open windows if the heating is on. Energy usage is monitored and the cottage is set to temperatures between 18 - 22 degrees which we have found to be very warm. If you do need the temperature to be increased or decreased, please let us know.
We ask for your help, during this time of high energy bills as wasted energy will inevitably result in increased booking prices which is a negative for us all.
11. We would greatly appreciate it if, at the end of your stay, you placed used bedding and towels, on the floor OR in the clothes hampers provided in the bedroom and bathroom. This will allow us to keep our cleaning costs down.
12. Guests are not permitted to charge their EV using the property's electricity. This is a FIRE RISK and invalidates our insurance policy. Unauthorised charging will lead to an additional payment of £100 and cancellation of your stay immediately. The following website will indicate your nearest charging points - www.zap-map.com
13. Please bag all nappies and place in the outside bin.
14. The property can only accommodate 6 guests. Visitors are not permitted to stay overnight.
15. If you use spray tan, you MUST bring and use your own towels for the shower as the tan often stains towels which will be billed / taken from your deposit.
16. An alarm system is provided and we do urge guests to activate the alarm, when leaving the property. Details are provided in the guest book in the property. We also operate a Blink doorbell at the front door along with a Blink camera and floodlight, on the side of the garage. We are registered with the Information Commissioners Office.
17. Please take extra care of the keys, replacements will incur a £40 charge.
18. Please don't forget to close and lock all windows and doors when you leave the property.
19. We hope you enjoy the board games in the unit in the lounge, please pop them back when you're finished with them and please let us know if any pieces are missing.
20. Please drive slowly up and down the country lane, your car will thank you, as will our neighbours :-)
21. Due to the septic tank, please do not place anything in the toilet bar toilet paper. A bin has been provided and extra bin liners can be found in the cupboard above the kettle where basic cleaning supplies are provided.
21a. We have also provided Non Biological washing powder for your use during your stay, due to the nature of the Septic Tank. Please do not use Biological liquid or powders.
22. We welcome your communication, so if you have any questions or suggestions for improvements or simply need to get in touch, please do so via email: stonecottagewrexham@outlook.com, phone or the AirBnB messaging system.
